Board Certified Orthodontist

Dr. Joan Klayton is a board-certified orthodontist with over 20 years of experience creating beautiful, healthy smiles. She is proficient in clear aligners (Invisalign™ and Angel Aligners ™), metal and clear fixed braces, dento-facial orthopedics to treat early skeletal issues and surgical orthodontics.

As a top 10% graduate of Temple University School of Dental Medicine, she completed a hospital-based General Practice Residency and practiced general dentistry before pursuing her true passion — orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She completed her specialty training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers) in Newark.

Dr. Klayton earned her Diplomate from the American Board of Dentistry. She also is one of few orthodontists worldwide to have earned Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), a distinction that reflects her exceptional commitment to continuing education and comprehensive patient care.

Born and raised in Monmouth County, NJ, Dr. Klayton remains deeply connected to her community. She is a longtime volunteer with SPUR (Special People United in Riding), providing therapeutic horseback riding for individuals with disabilities. She also supports the Middletown Arts Center’s mission of bringing arts and culture to all ages and abilities. A former state champion gymnast, she stays active with hiking, skiing, sailing, horseback riding, and just about any adventure that comes her way.
